Our Guardianship Services
Basic Guardianship
- Acting as an educational guardian in the UK*
- A 24-hour emergency contact number
- Liaison with students, schools, host families and parents about matters inside and outside school
- Selection of suitable host families
- Arranging payments to host families
- An income and expenditure statement at the end of each academic year
- Guardianship letters to support visa applications
- Arranging travel to, from and within the UK where required
- Completing registration forms when applying to new schools
- Coordinating communication when a child is suddenly unwell
Comprehensive Guardianship
- All Basic Guardianship services, plus:
- Welcoming students to the UK and helping them settle in
- Accompanying students to school and helping arrange accommodation at the start of each term
- Two student visits per academic year at the parents’ request
- Help with opening a bank account, arranging a mobile phone, SIM card and top-ups
- Help with school uniform fittings, purchases and study supplies
- Priority translation of termly school reports
- Help with school and third-party payments where needed
- Support with budgeting and the planned distribution of pocket money
- Attendance at one parents’ evening or headteacher meeting per year, followed by a report in Chinese
- Advice on subject choices and arranging additional tuition where needed
- Advice at key educational stages (11+, 13+, 6th Form, UCAS and scholarships)
- Care and support during illness until the student recovers
- Assistance with passport renewals and visa applications
- Guidance for students and parents on extracurricular and out-of-school activities
- Support with UCAS and university scholarship applications
- Advice on relationships with peers and a supportive channel for communication
- Invitations to ECA activities and encouragement to take part in local cultural events
- One-to-one contact with local British people to develop English communication skills and settle into school life
- Personal arrangements such as birthday celebrations and gifts
- Planning one parental visit, including transport, hotels and an itinerary (excluding visa arrangements)
